The professional traineeship is a training strategy that involves OneToOne coaching of the student with an experienced professional (Trainee Guide Nurse) in specific healthcare contexts, in order to learn the skills required by the professional profile.
Apprenticeship learning takes place through practical experimentation, the integration of theoretical-disciplinary knowledge with professional and organisational operational practice, contact with members of a specific professional group, starting with a reflection process guided by nurse guides and clinical tutors.
The three-year traineeships must guarantee the training of a professional in possession of skills that are spendable in all care contexts, consistent with the curricular theoretical content.
Traineeships take place during the periods stipulated in the teaching schedule approved by the Course Council (Three-year Traineeship Schedule PDF).
The Operational Instruction on how to handle an accident occurring to the student in the classroom (during teaching activities) and in the clinic (during the placement or clinical laboratory) are available at this page
Students on the Course of Studies are on a par with employees of the AUSL-IRCCS RE, which is why, in compliance with current legislation on safety in the workplace (Legislative Decree 81/08), access to the traineeship is permitted subject to completion of the Health Surveillance Procedures, which are envisaged for every employee of the local health authority.
All information on organisational arrangements for carrying out Health Surveillance Procedures and how to reach the location where these procedures are carried out can be found at
